Abstract

The article explores the relationship between migration, risk and border spaces by studying the migration of undocumented persons on the northern and southern borders of Mexico. Following a brief summary of the literature on risk, which presents the prevailing paradigms on the theme, the author explores the way the concept helps to explain migration, particularly along borders. This is followed by a conceptual proposal for investigating risks in migratory routes. The ariticle ends with a summary of the main points.
