Abstract

This article seeks to explore the current complex crisis of capitalism by taking up various angles of its manifestation: economic, social and environmental. It seeks to examine the current crisis of capitalism today since the housing and financial crisis of 2008, considered the most serious in the global arena since 1929. To this end, it begins by exploring the explanations provided by Marxist and Keynesian theory of the economic crises inherent in capitalism. Secondly, it discusses some of the consequences of the crises experiencedin the past fifty years, especially in relation to the changes in the power relations betweencapital and labor. This has led to a deterioration in the living conditions of the majorityof the population, expressed in increased poverty, inequality, persistent hunger andworldwide environmental degradation.
