Author Guidelines
- Only texts that have not been published and are not simultaneously being submitted for publication elsewhere will be considered. Authors are fully responsible for the content and originality of their submissions. Each of the authors must sign the originality commitment letter and send it to the journal.
- Acceptance of each contribution is subject to peer review assessment. Please refer to the journal’s peer review assessment process.
- Authors must comply with the “Authors’ Commitments” specified in the journal’s Ethical Principles.
- Texts must acknowledge the contribution of all participating authors and other contributors.
- Sources of funding must be specified, where applicable.
- Submissions must cite sources of information and explicitly acknowledge the contribution of other works and ideas, even if not cited directly. Authorship of texts must be acknowledged with citations and bibliographic references. When authors refer to their own ideas contained in previous works, the same citation requirements apply.
- Authors who publish in the journal must include their ORCID persistent identifier in order to eliminate the ambiguity of their names and facilitate the correct attribution of authorship of their articles.
- Authors must submit their texts according to the editorial and style preferences for Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos. Please refer to the format for articles and book reviews, as applicable.
- In order to ensure originality, Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos uses anti-plagiarism software to check all submitted texts. If signs of any plagiarism are detected, the manuscript will not be considered for publication. The most common forms of plagiarism can be consulted at https://publicationethics.org/guidance?classification=2777.
- If the article or book review are accepted by Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos, the author authorizes anyone to distribute the published text as long as the source is properly cited and reference is made to the original publication. No changes shall made to the content in such cases. It is necessary that each of the authors sign and send to the journal the authorization for the dissemination of the text and copyright.
- Author(s) should refer to the Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos Guidelines for its general characteristics. They should also consult the journal’s section policies.
