INTRODUCTION
El Colegio de México expresses its commitment to ensuring respect for the integrity of all those who comprise its community, as well as the products of their labor and the public property it owns and protects.
In view of the foregoing, El Colegio de México issues the following statements:
DECLARATIONS:
1. El Colegio de México is committed to the preservation of a healthy work, research and study environment. Sexual harassment is unacceptable, discriminatory and illegal, since it involves disturbing, disrupt or creating difficulties for someone else by directly or indirectly making intimate suggestions, invitations or propositions related to sexual activities regarded as offensive.
It is a denial of the rights and dignity of others, in that it contradicts the policies of fairness and equal treatment and opportunities for members of the academic community. This institution considers that such behavior is a violation of the rules governing the community. El Colegio de México is therefore offended by such practices and strictly prohibits sexual harassment. The institution pledges to take the necessary actions to prevent and correct the behaviors that violate this institutional policy.
2. El Colegio de México is committed to academic integrity in all its aspects, and demands that the whole community show rigorous respect for ethical principles, which do not allow exceptions. In particular, El Colegio de México strongly condemns any form of scientific or academic fraud, specifically plagiarism, in other words, the attempt to present another person’s work as one’s own, in any context. This implies that the community of El Colegio de México, without exception, is obliged to attribute authorship of texts and ideas in any written communication in a correct, explicit and timely fashion; the community is also obliged to always explicitly acknowledge the sources of information, opinions, interviews and ideas in the works, articles, books or any research products. Academic personnel in particular also agree to explicitly and clearly acknowledge the contribution of assistants and students, and any other support received during their research.
3. El Colegio de México is committed to the care of its facilities, movable and immovable goods, equipment and documentary collections in all media. Members of the community, without exception, are obliged to preserve, respect and maintain those assets.
