Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to briefly present how the point of view Biography and Society has been used and developed in Germany. This constitutes a view of the social reality that emphasizes the time domination, and the relation between the individual and society. Particularly, it's related to the hypothesis of life course institutionalization and the role that some issues have played on it, for instance, the increasing of life expectancy.

In order to weigh the explicative force of this approach, some data for the specific case of Puebla are analyzed. Finally, the previous analysis allows to think about possible future explorations on the subject.
