Women with high fertility in Mexico: Orientations for a population policy

In this article, the author analyzes the different patterns of high fertility by age in Mexico, in three residential settings (rural, urban, and metropolitan). She reviews several aspects concerning the relationships between women with high fertility, their level of schooling, and the social groups to which they belong. The objective of the article is to draw up a series of indications serving as an orientation in the design of population policies which could have a favorable effect upon the target individuals.
